็H5N1 vaccine injection

Beside the outbreak of Dengue Fever (that occupied most of the beds in every Chiangmai hospital) this year H5N1 has made its return to Thailand. And especially for cool climate regions as Chiangmai there has been reports of infected patients from the deadly flu. My friend in Bangkok just admitted after been diagnose H5N1 positive.

For me I went to had the vaccine injection last Saturday with my Mom and Wife. A very little needle but cause such pain followed with a day of low fever and headache cause by the live vaccine.

It is advise for most people to take the injection, last year it was given for free for people considered in the risk groups but this year the government has stocked enough for almost everyone

So if your living in Chiangmai please check at your local hospital. If its a government hospital you should be free of charge if it's a private hospital it will cost you less compare to recovery treatment after your infected.

After the rain the rice farmers came.

After Days and Days of rain (that will follow with flood problems), now the farmers in most northern region are starting the 2nd crop of rice.

Behind my house is a small rice field, the farmers are starting to put the rice in the field. It is a days work.

I can hear them talking and singing for the whole day.
Sound like a joyful and peaceful like to me.

I will update some pictures when they are all planted.

I'm not a flower person, i don't quite know their names or species. I was bad in biology but I do like cultivating fruits and vegetables. They are also viewable and eatable.

Any way at least i like watching flowers. This one I don't really know if it can be call flower are not? But i like it.

This flower is in the small garden in from of my sister's shop. I like the color and shape.

Are flowers the same around the world?

Promoting Mango Namdokmai Cultivation

Last Saturday I traveled to Amphur Bordao, Sarapee District, Chiangmai to promote mango cultivation.

The mission of this trip is to pursue the villagers, who are Pakayor hill tribes people to start cultivation commercial agriculture. Most of the hill tribes people only do household size agriculture. Many have started to cultivate commercial plants most were fooled by the sellers from below land.

So it was hard not only to show them the benefits also the key was to gain their trust.

We arrived at our destination 1,100 meters above sea level around 11.00 am. Most of the villagers are still  in church. The majority of Pakayor are Christian. So we had some time to walked around.

I found this home pig at one of the villagers house.

A very cute little pig

See her smiling.

Around 12.00 am the villagers came out.

There we around 20 people who were interested in the project. So Joe show some presentation. After a 2 hours talk and discussion. the villagers were very impressed their curiousness turned into enthusiasm. They were very eager to start the project.

So hope that this project will turn good.
Yesterday I drop by to buy some snack at 7-11. In Thailand normally there will be a dog sitting at the entrance door.

Today I found a cat sleeping at the public phone booth. So peaceful I couldn't resist taking a photo of it.

Envy those who can sleep with worry free.

Some small light

After some dark time caused by potilical unrest, now it seems that the tourist situation is recovering.

Normally we would have tourist comming from Europe during this period of the year.

And it seems promising as you can see western tourists on the streets.

Hopefully we won't have any more problem cause by politics.
Wish we could be the peaceful nation we once were.
